Overview of METROCON08 Expo & Conference
METROCON08 Expo & Conference will take place at Dallas Market Hall [2200 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas] on Thursday, August 14, 2008, and Friday, August 15, 2008.
For the SIXTH year in a row, Interior Designers, Facility Managers, Architects, Design Students, and other design industry members in the southwest will take advantage of this stellar event that focuses on introducing the latest in products and innovative ideas to the region’s thriving design community.
In a ground-breaking collaboration, the Texas / Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA [International Interior Design Association], the Dallas / Fort Worth Chapter of IFMA [International Facility Management Association], and the Texas Chapter of ASID [American Society of Interior Designers] come together to offer the largest regional design-related expo and conference in the USA. METROCON08’s tradeshow is expected to attract over 250 diverse manufacturers and service-oriented companies as exhibitors. Attendees will be exposed to a multitude of cutting-edge products (everything from the newest in soft- and hard-surface flooring to open office systems furniture and upper-end casegoods to advanced acoustical applications and security measures to the latest in window treatments for both home and business) and valuable services (from consulting and maintenance to project management).
Organizers anticipate over 3,500 in total attendance during the two-day show.
Besides the outstanding tradeshow and networking opportunities, additional incentives to attend are the quality continuing education and keynote offerings. For professional, student, and industry members of ASID, IFMA & IIDA, the two-day tradeshow is free of charge, and there is a $35 flat fee to take any amount of continuing education and/or attend a keynote. For non-members, the two-day tradeshow is $25, and there is an additional $75 flat fee (for a total of $100) to take any amount of continuing education and/or attend a keynote. All students may attend the two-day tradeshow for free, but students who are not members of the associations must pay the $100 flat fee to take any amount of continuing education.
In conjunction with METROCON, the Texas / Oklahoma Chapter of IIDA and the Texas Chapter of ASID hold their annual awards celebrations. This year, ASID Texas Chapter’s Legacy of Design Awards will be held the evening of Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Briggs Breeman Real Estate Brokerage home located at 6506 Northaven Road, Dallas.
