Frequently Asked Questions by Attendees
We recommend that you first thoroughly read the information on the REGISTRATION page, as your question might be answered there.
Q. I registered for several continuing education courses, but I will now not be able to attend the conference. Is there a way to get a refund?
A. According to our METROCON policies, we do not offer refunds once your have registered online. You will be considered a no-show at your classes, and anyone waiting as a stand-by for one of your classes will simply claim your seat when you do not show up.
Q. I previously registered and paid for continuing education classes. I assume this registers me generally for METROCON and I don’t have to do a separate registration? Q. The continuing class that I want to take is shown to be sold out. Is there any way that I can get in? Is there a waiting list I can get my name on? Q. When I originally registered, I only signed up for the tradeshow, but I would like to sign up for classes after all...how can I do that? Q. I registered for a few classes on day, and then a week later I registered for a few more as per instructions in Note #8 on the Registration page; however, I still have not received confirm of new classes. I guess I will just show up? Q. Is there food available during the show?
A. Yes. If you registered for any continuing education classes, then you are automatically registered for the tradeshow.
A. No, there is no waiting list that you can get your name on before the conference starts. However, when you get on-site, immediately go to the CEU Help Desk, which is located back by the classrooms on the first floor. For those classes that have sold out online, they will instruct you to line up outside the classroom (of the course you want to take) about 15 minutes before the class is set to start. If there are no-shows, then the monitor will seat attendees on a first come/first served basis. For those classes that did not sell out online, the volunteer at the CEU Help Desk can give you a pass so that you are guaranteed a seat.
A. You actually need to register a second time since you now want to sign up for classes. If you are a member of one of the 3 sponsoring organizations – ASID, IFMA or IIDA – then you were not charged anything the first time. If you are not a member, then you will be charged twice. See the instructions in Note #8 on the Registration page. If you are unhappy about being double-charged, remember that METROCON is still a bargain since most classes outside of METROCON are usually anywhere from $15-$50 per class.
A. We have a solution for you now with the updated registration... Go to the REGISTRATION page and click on the purple text that says “CLICK HERE if you have already registered and need to retrieve a lost confirmation.” Put in the email address that you used to register both times. The email you get back should have your full list of classes because it should compile both registrations. Be sure to look in your Bulk Mailbox / Spam Mailbox for the email just in case it gets caught up in there. Sometimes the systems are picky.
A. Free coffee will be available from the show’s opening each day through early afternoon. You can purchase breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks items in the concession area. During Thursday evening’s Happy Hour, light appetizers will be offered free of charge. You will receive one free Happy Hour drink ticket with your registration, but you can purchase more. If you signed up for a free Friday Lunch during online registration, you will pick it up in the designated areas. You cannot sign up for a free Friday lunch ticket if you register on-site as the catering company needs to know how many lunches to prepare; however, if after a certain point, people have not picked up their free lunch, then we will allow other attendees to have the unclaimed lunches.
